Guyanese for Peace (GfP)
Who is Guyanese for Peace (GfP)?
We are a group of Guyanese who, in our personal capacities, have been networking among ourselves seeking to support the efforts of all those working at this time towards peace, stability, respectful engagement and inclusive prosperity in our beloved Guyana. Individually we come from different backgrounds, persuasions and affiliations; collectively, we are committed to the values of, peace, security, respect for diversity, inclusion and social cohesion, and to using our abilities and experiences to advance these values in the public sphere in a non-partisan manner.
What is the Mission of GfP?
We seek to peacefully and lawfully promote Guyana’s unity and development as enshrined in The Constitution of the Republic of Guyana. We believe that peace, security, inclusion and social cohesion are vital to the country’s future. We seek to encourage citizens and leaders from all walks of life and political persuasions to join us in realizing the words of our coat of arms: “One people, One nation, One destiny.”
Actions to Achieve our Mission
We seek to achieve our mission by:

Assisting in monitoring and analyzing the present environment for potential problems which may arise;

Supporting efforts at mitigating potential problems should there be need;

Urging and working with all key players in the elections process as necessary to respond to possible challenges in a restrained, thoughtful and constructive manner which is in the best interest of Guyana;

Advocating for and providing peace and trust-building support if necessary;

Contributing our collective means and expertise towards an inclusive, safe and prosperous Guyana in whatever way possible given.
